Wiring a pool pump and switch
I am trying to wire a new switch to my pool pump it is a 230 volt. I have a new switch( 240v 30amp double pole single throw), but I do not know how to connect the wires. I have a red a white and a black wire and a bare wire. The is no designation on the switch as to where which wire should go where. The white wire was not connected to the previous switch, only the red and black.

If your Pump is 230/240 volt, you should have 2 wires for power and 2 to pump.
The ground is separate, and needs to remain intact.
Typical Might be Black and red, or 2 blacks, in and out of switch box.
It needs to disconnect bot Hots.
If switch not identified, 2 Dark screws may be line and other 2 should be load.
Meter or continuity tester can help.
