I have a half bathroom in my basement that consists of a toilet (directly on the concrete floor) and a sink. I want to build my own shower in the corner but I am uncertain on how to drain it. Can I hook into the sink drain some way? I should say that on the other side of the bathroom wall is the laudry room if that helps any. I believe I could build a platform high enough to box in a drainage pipe along side the wall. The drainage pipe on the sink sits about 10 inches up the wall approximately 8 feet from where the shower would be (with a couple corners). Could I bust through the wall and tap into that pipe? Or will all the angles create a problem? I am open to suggestions to doing this the most quick and cheapest way. Lastly, I had heard they have premade shower stalls that are designed for basements to sit on top of the floor, anyone know where you can buy these?

If this were my call I would figure where I wanted the shower and cut a trench over to the lavatory drain line where I would connect my shower. I do it this way to use the lavatory vent to wet vent the shower saving myself from having to run a extra vent. I couldn't find a platformed shower base in the web but I would do it the right way instead of attempting to cobble it by raising the base and piping on the basement floor. Try to keep the bends to a minimum. More bends= more clogs. Good luck, Tom
