    Leaking tub spout.again!
I fixed my leaking Moen tub spout a while back and all has been well until today. Nothing else has changed with the spout but now it is leaking worse than before. Before was a drip, now I have a solid steam leak. All the parts are changed and brand new.. any suggestions?? Thanks, Christine:cool:

You didn't say so I'm assuming that this is a slip on spout. Here's one a lot of installers miss when they go to mount a slip on diverter spout.
When the end's cut off the copper pipe that sticks out from the tile the tubing cutter leaves a burr/ridge. This ridge catches on the "O" ring and forces it out of its place so that when the spout diverts to the shower it leaks out the back.
To get around this problem take sand cloth and sand the burr down to a bevel. Then before you install the spout moisten the end of the copper so it slips on easier. Good luck, Tom

Is the spout leaking or is the faucet leaking through the spout?

I had to replace the stem piece again. One of the "O" rings was split! All fixed. Thanks everyone for your help. Christine

I am having the same issue as someone else on the fourm from a few months back (see link below). I replaced a tub spout with a universal type and it leaks out the back ONLY when the diverter is up. This is fustrating as I have tried lots of teflon tape and all the other suggestions that were...

Tub Spout [ 3 Answers ]

I have an old tub spout with diverter that I am trying to replace. The pipe underneath has a 1 1/4" adapter attached that has been in place for 10 years. My question is how do I remove that adapter? I know heating it is an option, but what should I use that won't melt the plastic tub wall, and how...

Water leaking from spout when diverter pulled [ 3 Answers ]

In the tub, when the shower diverter is pulled, a large amount of water is running out of the tub spout, lowering the water pressure in the shower head. In the past, the "normal" or expected amount of water came out of the spout, but this amount is much larger. Is there a way to replace the...

Older Kohler leaking at base of Kitchen Spout. Got off but can't get apart [ 2 Answers ]

I've got a 15 year old Kohler 2 handle kitchen sink that's leaking around spout base. I took the spout off and there's a valve looking thing loose up in the handle. It appears that it once screwed into the base of the faucet assy (the water pressure has always been bad at this sink). It looks...
