    I work In NJ but live in NYC
    HI I work in NJ with live in NYC what should be with held from my pay check I want to have this right so that I don't have to pay NY over $1,000.00 again :confused:

    You should use the paycheck calculator at paycheckcity.com. Chose NY as tax state. The calculator is pretty simple.

    If you know that you had to pay NY $1000 last year, why not just have that amount withheld from your paycheck (i.e. about $20/week)?

    Ebaines approach is about right. Just have enough NY Tax withheld to cover the tax liability.
