    Computations of P(O or M) P(O and M)
If I am given a table showing the breakdown of 558 people who own (O), rent (R), for less than 2 years,(L) or more than two years (M)... How do I find the P(O and M) and P(O or M)?

I am given column totals and row totals as following:

Less than 2 years (L) More than 2 years (M)

    Owner (O)
    : 73 194

    Renter (R) : 210 81

Would the events be considered independent and mutually exclusive or just mutually exclusive?

For P(O or M), I am adding the P(O)+P(M) or 267/558 + 275/558 and getting a total that is gretaer than one (which is impossible). HELP PLEASE!

Hi, you counted P(OM) twice, this is why you're greater than one. You need P(O) + P(RM)
