Hi does anyone know what is likely to happen... I stupidly and unsure why but I presented to a local hospital in pain and gave them the wrong name address and dob... I was released from hospital on morphine quite a high dosage... I then went to another doctors practice using the same name and got a repeat prescription... I was struck off from that doctors and they have me down on screen as fraudster... I have been placed at a different doctors and have been with them for 11 weeks now... I haven't heard anything about what I did but every time that I here a car pull up or a knock on the door I panic in case it is the police please can you help this is driving me insain with worry... Ps I am no longer on any other medication... what is likely to happen to me??

Drug seekers are often well-recognized after a time with most physicians. You probably will have a hard time finding one in your area to treat you.

If they found out you lied through your teeth, they can press charges. It's a class C felony, I think.

You have exhibited what is called Drug Seeking Behavior. Most likely nothing is going to happen to you except for the fact that the doctors and hospitals have shared what info they have about you, cross referenced it with any other info you have ever given (they are very smart when it comes to this) and next time you present in pain you will probably get nothing more than a Tylenol or 2.

Most physicians are too busy to call the cops and file charges. Believe me, if they were going to they would have by now. I know, I committed prescription fraud. Do yourself a favor and get some help this problem won't go away all by itself. I know the hell and it isn't worth it.

Hi Tessy... I have asked for help but no one seems to want to be there with any help or advice for me... You say you also committed prescription fraud may I ask what happened to you with regards this?. I know you say that I would have been charged already if there was going to be any and I really want to believe that but I am just so scared... Where are you situated?. In the uk or in the us?:confused :confused:

I am in Ohio. I committed it for years... I would worry and worry three months down the road, nothing ever happened. Once a pharmacy refused to fill a script and said they would call the cops... nothing happened. Then, a year or two later I called a prescription in and the cops were waiting for me to pick it up, they arrested me right then and there. If they know about this they would have already come for you. They don't wait weeks and weeks to pick you up, if they know. Most doctors just want to get rid of you. They aren't interested in pressing charges. But pharmacists are another story, the get really mad and they WILL call the cops! Never had a Doctor do it. Seriously, I do believe you are driving yourself crazy for nothing if a doctor or pharmacy called the police, trust me, you'd know!

When I did get caught, I ended up pleading down and got a year of non-reporting probation because I had no other record. That didn't stop me, I was an addict and I HAD to have it. I ended up calling 60 more scripts in over a 5 month period to different pharmacies. I was a little smarter this time, and if there was any hesitancy I wouldn't pick it up. However, they had a mug shot of me and when a pharmacist got suspicious, they called the cops and picked my picture out. This was about 2 weeks after I called the prescription in. The cops came to my door... to make a long story short... I ended up with 1 year of intervention in lieu of conviction. I have to drop urine randomly once a month and see a probation officer once a month. It isn't a great time but it beats a felony conviction. They will wipe it off my record when I finish this. I got off easy.

But here is the thing, I HAD to get off the drug. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I went through major withdrawl and I did this on my own, But I found meetings to attend. I found it at a church. I would recommend going to a AA meeting, even if you aren't a alcoholic. N/A can be a trigger as I have found many aren't off drugs and are drug seeking. It isn't fun and you have to swallow your pride, but it can be done. No one was more addicted then me, but I found that once I MADE the DECISION, the desire went away. You can do it too. Listen, I tried and tried to get help before I got caught. The point being... I "tried". I have heard it said that "trying is failing with honor". You have to get to the point that you really want help and then go get it. It is there. Don't beat yourself up about the addiction, it can happen to anyone. I am just a stay at home Mom... no one would ever suspect little ol me. People are just that, and EVERYONE makes serious mistakes in life. It isn't the end of the world and this does NOT define you as a person!

Seriously, don't commit fraud again, If you do get caught, it is very expensive and scary and it isn't worth the little high you get. I can say by expererience though, I DO NOT believe they are after you.. it has been 11 weeks. They would've come by now. Let it go and learn from it. Don't be like me!!

Take it from an officer--If it's been 11 weeks, you would have most likely been arrested by now, if you were going to be. I've been with the dep't here in my town for 19 years, so I know what I'm talking about.

Take the above poster's advice and get yourself straight. If you don't, you'll never have any quality of life at all.

I can sympothize with you, I as you have are in the same situation, except I done something worse, it has been two days since I tried to get the prescription filled and no one has done anything or called me about it, I am scared that they are going to come and get me too, can you help me out?

First of all everyone is right except the part about being listed as a drug seeker. Many years ago the ERs and Doctors offices would have the so called blk/blue box for drug seekers. Since the Hippa laws have been enacted, they went to the way side. But your medical records show the number visits and what you were there for. So the next time you go to the ER you will be most likely treated as such. But everyone knows that when you go to an ER, you will get a medical screening by the MD on duty and at that time he will deem necessary the medication he sees fit. Hence when people come to the ER they immediately say they have chest pain to be see more quick.
