    What is the law requiring time to file deeds in the state of Georgia

    Although there is no time limit by which deeds are to be filed, it is usually a good rule of thumb to file property deeds as soon as possible to secure your rights as a landowner.

    Failure to timely record the deed may affect priority, and therefore the ability to enforce ownership should a dispute arise.

    Your local county clerk [or land register] is the person to address with this question.
