The sharp pain could have been a muscle cramp.

Could be implantation bleeding. I had some pains on my lower sides in early pregnancy. Could be your body prepping for pregnancy. When is your period due? Only way to know is to wait and see if you get your period. If not, wait until you are about 7 days late and take a test. Hopefully your weekends have paid off!

It is possible it is implantation, but it could just be irriation from previous sex, gearing up for a period, etc. its not uncommon to have occasional spotting etc, and have no obvious reason for it. As far as the pain from intercourse, it could be several different things as well. It could be that it was just a weird position that caused some pain. Could be a muscle cramp.could just be it was extra sensitive for some reason. Could be (depending on where you are in your cycle) ovulation pains, or pre-menstrual. Could be gearing up for pregnancy. It could be endometriosis. Its hard to say. Has this happened before? Is it a constant? Was it a one time thing, or did the pain continue throughout intercourse, and after? Is it just during intercourse, or do you notice it at other times? When you do have your periods, are they very painful? I would suggest waiting until at least the first day of your missed period to test. If it comes up negative, but still no period a week or two later, take another test. Still negative, and no period, go see a doctor. Good luck!(oh, and definitely go see your doctor if the pain continues, or worsens. )
