My husband is on "Most Wanted" in Suffolk County NY.He's in hiding
I would like to know if I could place a property lien on his family members home he hides in? Their bank accounts or any other assets? I would just go after his, but I can not because he puts his cars & monies under other peoples names. He is in arrears over $30,000.00 & has 5 other warrants for illegal contracting. He has about 5 company names - all are unlicensed. My case is considered a felony because we live in different states. I have placed him on craigs list & drove to NY from NC to put up flyers in hopes of someone seeing him & notifying the authorities. I 've received responses but he's still out there being hidden by his family. Crime stoppers even received a tip saying he was at his sisters. However there is no search warrant for her property & the police could only go to the door. I do have an attorney but getting a return call from him is almost impossible. Any advise would be appreciated - the longer they take to arrest him the longer my children are doing without.

No, sorry, don't believe that you can place a lien on anything he does not personally own. I would take any remaining retainer you gave that lawyer and get a new one that is more hands on and available. Getting him in jail is obviously in order, but I don't believe you will collect any support from him anyway in jail.

No you can not put a lien on peoples home that merely hide him.
If you can prove ( beyond a doubt) that it is his oney bying the car, or that it is his money in these bank accounts,) you can go back to court to try and get this money. But you will have to have evidence, not just opinon. And him getting arrested is not going to get your any money if there is no money in his name. It only puts him in jail. |

You can get some or all of the funds owed to you. This is a gray area where the use of a third party to do work the police cannot is a valid option. The fact that his funds are hidden elsewhere is not an issue. Hackers are not just bored children or miscreants trying to play games.
