    Carrier Thermostat info
I have an old Carrier thermostat that I am replacing with a programmable thermostat. I do not wish to destroy the old thermostat getting it off the wall. Any place I can find a blowup of Carrier thermostat components, to allow non-destructive removal?

Not to the best of my knowledge. Most of the thermostats are screwed to the wall. Find the screws and remove them. If it has been on the wall for a long time you might have to pry a bit with a flat blade screw driver because of many coats of paint.

If it's a digital thermostat use a screwdriver or butter knife pry apart on the seem right side of the T-stat. If it's a mercury bulb stat pull out and down on the front cover and then remove the screws on the sub-base.

My carrier thermostat was working, but then fan ran continuous. Checked thermostat, not lit. Book says internal power source, not battery, could this have given up, even with power still on? Is this renewable or do I need a new thermostat? It is 10 years old. Thanks
