I've been hunting for the lyrics to a song called "College Life" I heard it around 1964 or 65. It starts like this:
Oh mother I don't want no more of college life
Gee ma I want to go home.
If anyone out there can send or direct me to the lyrics, I'd appreciate it

I think you are thinking of "they say that in the army" the song was probably changed a little to say college. Here is a webiste that may be informative...
