    Carrier to Hunter Thermostat
    I have a non-programmable 6-wire Carrier thermostat (TSATCCNHP01-B) and I want to install a programmable Hunter (model "Auto Saver" 44550). The Carrier now has the:
    * Blue wire connected to O/W2
    * Red -> R
    * Yellow -> Y/Y2
    * Green -> G
    * Black -> C
    * White -> W/W1.

    I am confused about how to connect these wires to the Hunter thermostat. The manual says to "ignore the color of the wires, since these do not always comply with the standard", and explains this:

    If the code on the existing thermostat is "RH, R or VR" then label RH.
    If the code on the existing thermostat is "RC or VC" then label RC.
    If the code on the existing thermostat is "G or F" then label G.
    If the code on the existing thermostat is "Y, Y1, C or M" then label Y/Y1.
    If the code on the existing thermostat is "W or H" then label W.
    If the code on the existing thermostat is "O, B, or R" then label O/B.

    There is no good pattern for me to follow since there are multiple R's and the black (C) and yellow (Y/Y2) wires seem to need to go to the same Hunter contact (Y/Y1). I tried connecting the black (C) to the RC contact, but the thermostat didn't function. Any ideas? Is it a simple solution to not hook up the black (C) wire since the old Carrier did not have a battery and the Hunter does have a battery? So I'm simply looking at just using 5 wires? Thanks!

    Wow. I had the same problem. See my post, if you can or get ahold of Hunters toll-free number. Their advise saved my day.

    What type of system do you have? Furnace/AC heatpump/electric furnace etc..?
    It looks like to me that you may have the wrong thermostat
