A few weeks ago, my g/f and I went through a bad breakup. A friend of mine, who I only occasionally talk to, went through one too. Her and I got into talking and I noticed we have a lot in common. We talk a bit each day on IM but that's about it. I really like her now and I really want to hook up with her, but it was kind of sudden and I have no idea what she thinks about me. I'm too much of a nervous wreck right now to just ask her due to my fear of rejection, but I don't know what else to do.
I did ask her if she wanted to hang out sometime, and she said she would when she's not busy (not too often). She's always been nice to me, but I really don't know if she "likes me." What can I do to have a better chance of being more than just friends?

When and if you do get the chance to hang out with her, do just that! No moves, no flirty talk, just hang out. Talk and listen. Pretend like you're interviewing her without her knowing it. If what you feel for her is more than a whim, then you'll find it out by getting to know her and vice versa. Don't push anything on her or she may be turned off. If she only likes you as a friend, you'll find that out too.

Give yourself time to heal and get healthy, before you go looking for some one to replace your ex. Relationships make us comfortable, and we feel loved. But depending on some one else to make us happy, and secure is unrealistic and unhealthy, and not a lot of fun frankly. Learn to enjoy yourself without a relationship. Get a life that you enjoy with out the ex.
