    Children's Movie Title
So, in this movie, the main characters are animated animals. The main animal (a dog, maybe?) gets left behind from his family in the wilderness. He then has to learn to survive on his own. The first night is raining and he hides under a crest of a hill. I think he makes friends with some rabbits and later one of them gets snatched by a hawk. I believe the dog then saves the rabbit. I know there is a magpie at one point. At one point in the movie, the boy who owns the dog and his grandpa are calling the dog's name and the dog is trying to get to them but they can't hear him and are too far away. He runs to try and find them, but they leave before he can reach them. The dog is probably reunited with his family in the end. I just cannot for the life of me remember the title. Thanks for your help!

That sounds like a movie I recently got from Netflix, although I only watched the first ten or fifteen minutes of it before deciding I didn't like it. It was called "The Seventh Brother."

    Summary from Netflix:

Tiny the puppy is lost after being separated from Angie and her grandfather. After spending a long night alone in the forest, Tiny is rescued and adopted by a family of rabbits and decides then and there to be the best brother he can be to the rabbit family. But as winter approaches, the rabbits realize Tiny is growing weaker and will not survive without the kind of food dogs need. Animated fun for the whole family.

I couldn't tell you if the movie used puppets like in never ending story or was animated, it was too long ago. It was probably around the time of The Last Unicorn, another movie I had sketchy memories of but recently found. The characters weren't people, and the setting was not like normal...
