    Hampton ceiling fan remote problem
I have a Hampton ceiling fan that is appox. 5 yrs old. The remote seems not to work. I have to flip the power switch on the wall and hold down a button on the remote to make the fan or lights go on. I tried changing the battery and that doesn't work. I then changed the switch on the wall and that doesn't work. I also looked at the security settings on the remote and fan and they are set the same. Do I need a new receiver module on the fan and remote? Help

Dropped my remote and it quit working. Tried everything including battery replacement, touch-up solder and checked for signal. Got a replacement remote from Home Depot and all is well. Beats the frustration of trying to troubleshoot/repair it. Make sure the new remote's settings match the receiver.
