    Delta diverter stem stuck
We have a three handle delta faucet in our bath/shower. When turned to use the shower only half of the water comes out the shower the other half still comes out of the faucet. We assume we need to change the stem but we can't get it out. There isn't a nut or anything that seems to be holding it in but no matter how hard we pull with a wrench or with the screw that holds the knob on, we can't get the stem out. Years ago we changed the stems in the hot and cold and we didn't have this problem. Please help, we don't want to pay $100 to a plumber.

We have the Delta delux stem. So, it should just pull out, right?

Delux or delex? It has a barrel that is screwed into the valve body that holds the cartridge and the handle extension.

Delex! How do I remove the barrel? I have a set of plumbers sockets but there isn't anything for to to grip onto.

I am replacing seats and stems in tub/shower. The old one is Sterling--the new faucet set it a PricePfister. The PF diverter stem doesn't fit into the seat (the hot and cold stems do). Can I go to another size diverter with PF?
