    Lien on Bank Account
    My brother and I jointly own the house I live in. My brother has moved out and lives out of the county. Due to unpaid real estate taxes ($6,000) the County of Fairfax, Va. Has placed a bank lien on my brothers bank account. I have not received such a notice as of yet. What does this mean for my brother. I'm looking for help in understanding this before I call my brother with this information. Many Thanks

    It means it will take all the money out of his account up to 6000 dollars.

    For you it means they may come after you also to get all of the money needed to pay unpaid taxes
