Most mothers just want to do what's best for their children and they don't like to know that their kids grow up and don't need them anymore.

Sounds like my mother in law. Lol
Why do they think that they are always right, because they think they know more and have had more experience and would like to see the best for you but at the same time, they try to live through their children. They think they are the same as them, this can lead to conflict because Children need to experience their own situations and life experiances and not all are going to be the same. Some mothers feel that it should be the same for their children, when truthfully each person experiances completely different things.

We think we are always right because we are. :)
I think, actually, from the time we give birth to our children it is up to us to care for them and make every single decision - down to what soap to use. We always put what is best for our kids first. That doesn't change as our children get older. From the time you are born - we become hard wired to make decisions for you - it is a hard habit to break.
As far as acting like a child - I don't know.

The only thing with this is that even though mothers may mean well, at times they actually cause more harm then not. Just by trying to tell them what decisions they have to make, instead of letting them make their own decisions on their own and not try to live through their children.
