Almost all women go through menopause at different times and in different ways, I sailed through it without medication but decided under my doctors advice to take HRT (hormone replacement therapy). He said it was the end all and be all and would make me a super woman, etc. etc. and then I read about the long term side effects of taking it which were heart disease and breast cancer. So, knowing that now, if anyone suggest taking HRT to counter the effects of menopause you know what to look for and before taking it do the research yourself.
My advice is basic, always eat breakfast, its true, the best and most beneficial meal of the day, always eat a lunch, salad, sandwich with whole wheat bread, etc. and follow the food guide for supper and all your meals and this can be found in any website on nutrition.
If you are not overweight for your age, which I assume is past 40? Then you are home free. Walk, it is an excellent cardio exercise and we women need more help in that department then men. Go to the library, be interactive and get books that explain what you want to know in basic terms, but DO IT FOR YOU and no one else. :)
