    Want to lose 60 - 80lbs
    I want to lose 60 -80 lbs quickly, at least by christmas is there a way someone can give me information on how to? Or what to do?:(

    Well, that's not nearly enough information for a starting point. Yes, that much weight loss in eight months is a possibility. It's not common, though.

    Watch "The Biggest Loser." That's the extreme amount of dedication its going to take if this is something you're serious about.

    A better starting place is by going to the doctor. Get a complete physical, and let him or her know that you're going to try to lose weight. They'll be able to guide you and tell you whether your body is ready for both diet and exercise programs, and give you any restrictions that might be inherent to your success.

    Good luck. The dedication in weight loss is something I've never been good at... Although the benefits of maintaining a healthy weight are so important!

    You have to change your whole way of thinking about food, Keep a journal for a couple of days of what you actually eat. Go over it and see what changes are needed. Most importantly, Portion sizes, reading nurtitional labels will help you a lot, stick to the one portionsize, a serving of meat is only about 3 ounces, the size of your palm. You need to cut out processed foods, fast foods, salty things like chips, eat lots of veggies and fruits and lean meats like chicken, skinless, turkey breast, fish and loin type meats. You need to eat low fat, low calorie milk, like 1-2% or skim milk, skim cheese and low fat yogurt. Snack on nuts and seeds, but again, watch serving sizes. Cut out soda or presweetened drinks and drink lots of water especially before meals. Exercise on a regular basis, walk, jog, bike,swim weighttraining, join a gym what ever it takes but you need to do a overall body workout 3-4 times a week, 30-60 minutes per session. It takes time and patience but it can be accomplished, if you lose 2-3 pounds a week this is great, but do no keep weighing yourself let you body get use to the changes first.
