Upset or Stressed?
I was wondering: is it possible to miscarry a baby if the mother is upset or stressed out?

Did you have a miscarriage or are you just worried about it happening?

No, I'm just worried about it happening. My grandmother had numerous miscarriages, and my mom had one (but it was forced from the stupid doctor who thought she had too many kids already--at t hat point she had three young children), and I want to be able to prevent it from happening by not allowing anything to upset me that much or stress me out. There's a lot of things going on that could cause stress, so I was just wondering.

Just to let you know it is something that you can not prevent. If it is going to happen it will. My wife's first child ended in miscarriage but now we have a beautiful boy.
The doctor we talked to pretty much told us that 1 and 3 pregnancies end in miscarriage and it is natures way of trying to create a perfect baby. He pretty much said to us would you rather a child born without the necessities of life. Good lungs, good brain , etc... There are so many cells that create so fast that sometimes it does not get the right one and that is a possible explanation of it happening. I also believe stress is a factor as well, but you need to learn how to deal with stress when you do have it. That is quite simple.
Best wishes to you and what you need to realize is you can not go by others experience but be in your own moment with your own experience and do yourself a favour and try not to worry about things you can not control.

Yes, it is possible to miscarry and have stress a leading cause factor. It is possible to miscarry and do nothing wrong either. But if you are under a lot of stress and anxiety and worry, then you need to talk to your doctor. Because there is an increased risk of miscarriage or other complications - to you and the baby. Talk to your doctor - he or she will know how to treat you. Best of luck to you.

Also, if you have not mentioned to your doctor the many miscarriages that have happened in your grandmother and mothers past, now is the time to do it. Stress can lead to complications and problems, and its important to understand how to de-stress at times such as this. With your hormones already running rampant, its hard to do. Make sure you take plenty of time for yourself. Pamper yourself when possible. Indulge in an occasion (non-gender specific if you don't know the sex of the baby) baby item, or a cute outfit that makes you feel sexy(enjoy those extra curves that come with pregnancy. Pregnancy can be very sexy, be proud of it.) take nice warm showers/baths(not hot) take naps when you can, and get plenty of sleep at night. Take time to listen to soft classical music and think of all the wonderful joys and experiences to come with your baby. Its amazing how the tiniest things can help you relax and melt the daily stresses away. Talk to your doctor about your fears, and this will help better educate, as well as calm your fears. Good luck to you and congrats on the pregnancy
