This is a pretty good company that sells them, give them a call and they can tell you if you have enough front end weight for this to work.
You will have to have a class III hitch, a class II hitch is not heavy enough for these units.

Check the owners manual or call the dealer for the car and ask what the tow capcity. You will need a "Class III" for the carrier. These carriers are all a "reciever mount" or a 2 Inch. If the dealer can tell you from the sales book if it will work. The next thing is do you have a "towing package" on the car? This will allow a simple electrical hook up and it add additional cooling for the engine and transmission. Remember, the scooter that you will carry is about 125-150 pounds and the carrier will match that weight as well. A class III receiver mounts to the frame and extends forward to distribute the weight. Good luck. The capcity is the trick. It will not make your car stand up on it's rear wheels. LOL

Trailer hitch [ 4 Answers ]

I have a used truck with an odd trailer hitch receiver which is 1&7/8 inch rather than the usual 1&1/2 or 2 inch receiver & am looking to find where I can purchase a 1&7/8 inch insert bar (the part that actually holds the hitch ball). Any help would be appreciated.
