    Hair dye removal (L'OrealColour Zap)
    Hello,
I realise there are loads of questions similar to this here but nothing I saw was specifically useful so I'm sorry but there's going to be another one :)

    1. I have naturally light-medium brown hair and dyed it black about 6 months ago and whilst I do like it and it does suit me, I have been considering using the Colour Zap to go back to something closer to my natural colour. My question is, can anyone help me find it here in the UK? From what I can see, it appears to be an American thing. I have tried Sallys with no luck and internet stores seem to only deliver to the US.

    2. I remember seeing in one thread (can't remember which one, however) that it is possible to go from black to brown by dying the hair one or two shades lighter at a time. Is this true? Could I go from black to dark brown, to mid brown this way? On a related note, there is a new range of hair dyes that are specifically for darker hair, is it possible these would work on black (again, can't remember the brand, sorry)?

Any help is muchly appreciated, thanks!

Car0lyn, there's nothing special about Color Zap. It works like any other hair color removal products. Black hair dye is the hardest to remover, and using a hair color removal may not completely remove the dye from your hair.

If you apply a box color on your hair, it will result in a red/orange shade. In order to go from black to medium or light brown without the brassy tones, you must lighten your hair a few shades and then apply the selected color. You should consider going to a salon, they will try to match your natural hair color as close as possible.
