    Labor shortage
I have to express my mea culpa in advance . You see ;apparently I am the reason for the labor shortage .I retired .

Retiring Boomers, not lazy Millennials, are driving the labor shortage (msn.com)

I'm guessing CNN is plowing the field so the government's confiscation of the retirement fund I saved since beginning work in 1973 can commence . That would leave me the option on either relying on the social security distributions that the government deems sufficient for my needs (and which I also earned ) ; or to get off my lazy a$$ and get back to work .

Bringing people out of retirement might sound cruel, but it's not always the case — some people retired not because they wanted to stop working but because it was too risky to work in a pandemic, or they couldn't find a job in which the benefits outweighed the risks.
Yes covid may have played a part in my decision. But I was preparing to retire this year anyway. Yes I may just get bored to death and reenter the work force ON MY TERMS .

I also see that there is a possibility that the government's irresponsible spending inflation could so devalue my savings that I would be forced back into the workforce.

Let me be clear . I live a frugal life and always have . I saved for retirement mostly because I did not want to become a burden ;and to not have to live dependent on government (ahem ) generosity . Leave the safety net to those who legitimately need it . But if the government forces me into dependency then I will not have a choice .
