AVERAGE hcg levels in singleton and multiple pregnancy
Does anyone have this data? Got my second hcg check today. I'm just over 5 weeks pregnant and my hcg is about 7,500 mIU.
Twins run in my family. All of my pregnancy symptoms are really strong (i.e. tired all day long, nauseated all day long). I had a dream that I was carrying twins. And I just have a hunch that it's twins.
I'm well aware of the range... I'm more interested in the average.

Your are in the perfect range for 5 weeks for a singleton. So, it does sound as though you are not pregnant with twins.

The rate for single gestation at 5 weeks is 3,500 - 115,000 mlU/mL. So, it sounds like you are having only one baby. However, understand that this is not foolproof and only an ultrasound will tell you for sure.

Where did you get that data from? Everywhere else had numbers similar to this:

I got that data from Davis's Comprehensive Hanbook of Laboratory and Diagnostic Tests with Nursing Implications. We use this in the hospital to determine normal or abnormal lab values.

It is the "Lab Bible" of nurses. We double check lab values and physician diagnoses using this particular text.

I see what you are looking at, but that scale goes by LMP (last monthly period) the scale I am going by goes by weeks of gestation.

For instance, 3 weeks LMP on your site is 5-50. In my text 5-50 is designated at less than one week gestation.

Hi, I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I'm looking for information about twins and hcg levels. At 7 weeks, I was measuring at 165,000 mIu. I know that the range for singletons is from 7500-229000 for 7-8 weeks... but I was wondering if these numbers could be indicative of twins. My first u/s or doppler...
