    Canadian taxes etc.
    Hi,
I've been trying to find an answer to this but so far nothing firm.
The questions I have are about my tax responsibilities as a Swede in Canada and my Canadian wife.
I am under the impression that as long as I haven't spent more then 50% of my time over the past rolling 12 month period in Canada I am not expected to pay tax on earnings I've made in Canada but in Sweden instead. However, I'm since July 2006 married to a Canadian. How does that affect things?
When we file taxes for my wife, she automatically in the tax software program (quicktax) gets tax credits for me if she indicates my earnings to zero (as I'm not paying taxes in Canada). If we put the amount I've actually made she loses the credit as married.

How shall we file and if CRA want me to pay tax, am I supposed to prove that I haven't been in Canada over the allowed time?

Any help would be very appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Andreas

OK, found an earlier post where it was stated that this board is only for US taxes.
If you have any input anyway, feel free to help.

    Thanks,
