C6H12O6 + 6O2 -> 6CO2 + 6H2O using this equation how would I find the number of grams of oxygen that are required to react with 60g of Glucose? How many grams of CO2 and water would be produced?:eek:

This isn't as hard as you've convinced yourself. First thing you do is convert your given value of Glucose from grams to moles using the molecular mass(calculated from the periodic table).

60g/180.06g/mol=.333mol of Glucose
Next you convert from grams of Glucose to grams of oxygen.

.333mol of Glucose x 6 mol O2/mol of Glucose= 1.998 ~2.00mol O2
Now you simply convert that back into grams by using the value from the periodic table

2mol x 32g/mol= 64 g O2


To solve for CO2 and H2O you simply do the same thing.
