There are no water in my house right now, what could be the problem
There are no water right now in my house, I called Calwater to find out why but they said to turn the water valve back on located outside by the gas meter. A tech from Gas Company came this morning to install a device he said was to go with the gas meter but he also said he didn't touch the water valve. If no one has touched the water valve, why are there no water right now since this morning? I called a police officer to report the problem but he said perhaps I didn't pay the utility bill. Water company will not turn off water supply even if residents didn't pay their bills. So is it a plumbng issue when there are no water in the house? What might be the problem if the water valve was not turned off? I've contacted a plumber but will have to call a local plumber for faster service to find out why and if repairs are required to get the water back on again in the house.

How do you know the water valve wasn't turned off without at least checking it as suggested? There is a valve turned off somewhere. Didn't they say to check the valve " outside by the gas meter"? Did you do that? Called the police??

Chances are the Gas Co guy was fiddling around and turned it off and forgot or is just lying... go turn it on. On is counterclockwise.

First thing is to make sure the shut off valve out front is open. If the problem is not solved after that, then the next thing to check is the first shut off valve (the main shut off valve) coming into the home... close and then reopen it. Here, it could be that the valve has clogged up and debris needs to be dislodged.

Next, is there a water meter in the home? If there is a water meter, I'd be checking to see if water is getting into and out of the meter (crack the nuts on the mater and see if you have pressure).

Start here, or have a plumber start here... should not really be a big mystery here... just some common sense trouble shooting should solve the problem!
