Air conditioning clogged drainline causesd water damage landlord blames cats?
I have 2 cats in my rented condo and AlWAYS change my air filter monthly and also put vinegar in drain to avoid clogs. The a/c unit is 10 years old and I live in Florida so runs all the time. I have lived here 4 years and this is second time the air conditioner has leaked and ruined wood floors. The a/c repair guy came and said I had clogged drain lines so that is what caused the problem. My question is that my landlord is blaming my cats stating their hair is clogging the drains and I am responsible for damage? Is this really possible? I have had cats over 20 years and lived in many places and this never happen before? How can hair get through if the filter is there? Please help

Filters don't catch everything. THe hair maybe but not most of the dander, and that will collect on damp evaporators and migrate to where it can clog the drain.
