    Why track lighting blew?
My track lighting in my kitchen blew and sparked. The hall overhead switch will not work now. I am wondering if a blown fuse would cause the sparking. I have lived here a long time with no problems.

It is likely the other way around. When the light sparked it may have tripped your breaker. Sounds like you have a short in the track light. Twist and remove each fixture and then reset the breaker. If the breaker holds it means the problem is in one of the fixture. If it still blows again then inspect the connections in the box with the power shut off. Shorts frequently leave a black scorch mark.

The base of each light fixture plugs into the track and then is twisted 1/4 turn. Firmly hold the base and twist 1/4 turn counter clockwise. Sometimes then is a small button or tab that needa to be pressed as you twist.
