I recall many (many!) years ago when I was a teenager, seeing a movie that was a sort of "Charlie Varrick" type of con movie, where a guy who was a for-hire contract hitman set up an elaborate plot to get away with some mob money or some such thing, and the scheme was to make it appear as if he had been killed and someone had made off with the $. Everything went well except when he faked himself getting killed, a truck driver saw it and thought that he had really killed someone. The trucker followed him to where he had a getaway car stashed, and he and another trucker boxed him in and smashed him in between their trucks. The getaway car was an old-style VW Beetle, and I think the movie was around the mid-seventies because it seems to me that one of the cars he used was a 1974 Chevy Impala. Can anyone help me ID this movie? --THANKS in advance.
