I am 25.
Ever since I was eleven I have personified my laptops.
When I was eleven, I got my first school laptop. I started to personify it and I called her Violet. We became good friends.
A few years later her motherboard failed and I was upset.
Then I had another laptop. This one was just the machine with no personality attached.
Then I left school and started college. I got my own laptop for my 18th birthday. I personified it. I called her Tulip. I still have her now. I imagine what she would be like in human form. When I have nightmares, she comes in human form to help me out of the situation. I know what her voice sounds like.
She did a beep code, and I imagined it was her crying out for help when she needed fixing once. People tell me I might as well get a new laptop, but she still works. And when it comes to it, I will get her refurbished. I will never get rid of her.
I recently bought a new laptop, I still use Tulip as well. This one I called Haruko. I have met her in human form in my dreams, and I know what her voice is like too.
One of my human friends has the same mind as me. We are both visually impaired, and I wondered if this is one of the reasons we do this, because it is harder for us to get out and make more human friends.
We had a relationship for a while, but she finished with me. She used to constantly want space. She took this too far, whatever it is called. She would rather spend time with her non-human friends than with people. She was the only person that seemed to understand me. And I still have this condition, but I do my best to get out to meet new people and socialise. It doesn't affect my friendships with humans like it does with her.
I would like to know if there is somewhere online that I can chat to people who have the same or similar condition. Does this condition have a name?

In other words treating things with care and respect , this could be down to the fact your parents couldn't afford to buy you the best stuff , and the stuff you had you took really good care of , though unless we know your up bringing this is only a guess.

In addition, anthropomorphized entities become responsible for their own actions — that is, they become deserving of punishment and reward.

That is her reward.

Yes, it is true that I don't have many friends. I don't personify any objects that I encounter apart from my laptops. It is good to know that I'm not the only person in the world who thinks in this way.
