    6 weeks pregnant
Hi I'm 6 weeks pregnant and super lightheaded. From the time I awake till the time I go to bed the lightheaded persists. I have tried eating more , resting more and nor standing for long periods. Nothing seems to work I need help asap! My doctor says it's normal in the first trimester but I have never experienced this with my last pregnancy.

It is fairly normal in pregnancy, as a few things can cause it, and pregnancies can be very different from one to the next.

Low blood sugar, or drops in blood sugar, is one possible cause, so while you are eating more, try to be sure to eat a little something every few hours throughout the day. Do you happen to notice it more when you move about... for example, first standing up from either sitting or lying down? Sometimes drops in blood pressure can result in feeling lightheaded. Your body is really working hard at pumping the extra blood through your system. Being a bit dehydrated may also cause it, so be sure to have an adequate amount of fluids throughout the day. Another possibility is if your iron level is low. Becoming anemic is somewhat common in pregnancy, especially if you tend to be on the low side to start with. That would be something to ask your doctor about as it would need to be checked. Are you taking an antenatal vitamin? They usually have a good amount of iron, but some women do require additional iron, so check with your doctor.

Try some of those things... eating regularly throughout the day, taking in some more fluids daily, don't cut your salt intake too much, and change positions slowly. If you continue to have trouble with it, ask your doctor to check your iron level and look into it a bit more.
