    I am in South Carolina, I recently purchased a home that needs work mostly electrical work. My question is it legal to actually live in the home when the only source of power is a portable generator?

    As long, if your area requires the building inspector to give it a certificate of being livable. And of course how the generator is going to be used.

    In general it is possible
