I need to know if the smoke from meth can be transferred from clothes and hair of a user to others. Please if anyone knows let me know. I have a family member that I believe is doing meth she she's not at home but I have a young baby and need to know if it transfers. I already don't want her touching him because I am so afraid she has been smoking or snorting the stuff. The answer needs to come quickly so I will know what to do about my family member.

Need to keep the baby away from this person. Accidental contact can happen. You dont want that for your baby.

If she is smoking it, yes. If she is snorting or shooting, no.

That is a very smart decision. You should never expose your children to the decay of drug abusers.

I think the behavior is more a danger than touching or casual contact. A small child can react to even (second hand) cigarette smoke, or even what we think as harmless everyday things like cologne or deodorant, but have never heard of residual meth smoke being an issue. I do applaud your decision though, as one cannot be too careful what a small child can be exposed too, so erring on the side of safety regarding illegal substances is a GREAT idea.

Same applies to smokers of cigars and cigarettes that are known to trigger allergic reacts in small children.
