Can connect to Firefox but not to IE7
Hi, on any internet connection (i.e. dial up, LAN, wireless etc) I can view pages on Firefox but not on IE7 - normally I wouldn't be bothered as hardly use IE but occasionally need to download some things that will only work with IE! When I open IE it says Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. Any ideas? My anti-virus software is Panda 2006 if that's useful ;)

Are you using a LAN, you may have to set up the LAN setting in IE7.

You need to click tools.. Internet OPtions.. Go to the connections tab and click the LAN settings button,

In here you need to put some stuff in, you can probably find out what you need to put in from firefox:

In Firefox click tools>>Options>>Advanced>>Settings and see if you can get that information into IE

At the moment in Firefox the setting is "direct connection to the internet". In IE in the LAN settings nothing is selected. I have tried selecting "automatically detect setting" but it doesn't solve the problem...

Hmm IE should not have had a problem if you are directly connected... Maybe we should wait for one of the computer geniuses to appear.. :)

OK not to worry! I think it maybe something to do with the settings of my antivirus - fortunately its not urgent as I use Firefox 99.9% of the time anyway ;)
