Delta faucet neck stiff
Older Delta kitchen faucet neck doesn't swivel easily. Squeaks also. Otherwise it work well. -- no drips etc. Question is -- is this an easy repair? Just a new washer or lube?
Can it be fixed or does it need to be replaced? Is there a repair kit available?

There is a ball under there, 2 lower seals, 1 upper seal and 2 O rings. You could try a bit of WD40 in the crack where the faucet swivels. If that fails, you need to disassemble the faucet, clean the inside, install new O Rings and seals, apply some plumbers grease and reassemble. Your symptom is common when minerals build up under the swivel section, did one last week just like yours. Delta repair kit at HD is $8 without the ball, $13 with the ball. Pretty easy fix.

Thanks a lot! I think I can handle that -- thanks for the tips -- the WD40 helped but not totally -- maybe in a few minutes. It will free it up even more..
Appreciate it --? Probably makes sense to replace all the rings and seals while I have it apart? Also - does one kit fit all? I can't find a model number.

Follow-up note - the wd40 did the job! I am sure the next time it will be new seals though - or new faucet.
Thanks again !

Hello Jermyn,
Mao641 gave you excellent advise to use WD-40 and it worked a bit but this is not permanent fix, I would suggest to call Delta at 800-345-Delta give them the model number and your problem they will send you any part that is need for this problem for free, delta faucet parts are life time warranty, Good luck.

Thanks -- you were right -- I called and they are sending me the parts along with the advice that it was an easy fix -- also the lady at Delta warned against using WD40 on the faucets. I will clean all the parts when I replace the parts.
Thanks again -- you guys probably saved me $200 - $300.

Not sure whether it is the "handle" or "spout" that don't swivel easily...
If the spout is hard to turn, than there are two "O" rings in the column of the body that need to be replaced ( or lubricated ). The body of the faucet "slides" left and right over them. They cannot be accessed unless you turn off water, remove handle and cup trim, remove hose from the body, and lift the spout with body (one piece). Now, since you have got to this point, I suggest you replace both "O" rings rather than lubricating them. Install new "O" rings, and apply lubricant before you slip the trim back onto the body of the faucet. Re-assemble the faucet, turn water ON and it should now work just fine
Hope that helps
