Also consider simple online storage sites like Dropbox, Google Drive, Box.
Several issues I found were important to consider:
- free vs paid services, many give you a certain amount of storage free
- do you want to retain original file size or willing to have them downsized (eg. Shoebox allows free unlimited storage of up to 500 kb if I am not mistaken)
- what is your objective?
Just store them?
Have them synchronized with hard drive (or maybe certain folders; this may make it easier to edit the photos)?
Have them synchronized with a tablet or phone (which may be where you view the photos)?
Organize and edit them online
- do you have a simple way of having photos upload to a website, such as Dropbox or Google Plus
I have photos upload to Dropbox and synched with my hardrive, then I go back and eliminate unneeded photos, edit, select ones to share etc. I haven't yet figured out a good program for editing, there is one free one online cant remember the name.
Dropbox has Carousel which is good for photos. I had an experience on Dropbox recently where someone deleted the photos, and I saw there is a setting when inviting them to view, they can only view rather than edit. However that requires premium status. For now I just make a copy of the photo to place into that shared folder.

Compressing photo to upload to site
[ 2 Answers ]
I'm trying to upload a photo (plumbing) so I can explain better what I'm trying to do. Can someone tell me how to compress my 388kb photo to at least 279 kb because that's what the site is asking for. I've tried compressing it but it won't compress to the size that the site needs.
