vistiation schedule for a small child
Hi, I am a single mother and never married. I have a son who is 23 months old, His father and I are in a battle for visitation. He already gets my son every sat from 9am to 12pm and comes to my house to see my son about twice a week for about an hour or two. Now he is taking me to court and asking for traditional visitation which I understand is every other weekend. My son has never been away from me for over nights. I am worried and concerned about this tradiditonal visitation. See myself and the father are deaf and I have a cry light that wakes me up if the child is crying at night and the father does not have this and a bed with rails on it too(toddler bed) and does not seem to feed my son and his other two kids from previous marriage three meals a day of healthy foods just mostly junk I live in IL and was wondering if you knew what kind of visitation schedules I have a choice of at this point.

The father of the child unless he is a real threat, sorry junk food is OK sometimes, you may require him to get a lite, But there is little way of stoping him from getting over night visitation for full weekends.

Here's the bad news, typical visitation is not every other weekend this only happens when the father agrees. Also I can't blame him much the current set up is silly (he is supposed to return the child at midnight?) Anyway your kid has rights to and one of those right is the right to interact on a equal bases with both parents. And when the child is with him he is responsible for the day to day care of the child, so food and sleeping arrangements are his decision.
