Cool setting will not stay on
When the cool setting is on, the cool icon keeps blinking. No cool air is coming out. Is there a problem with the thermostat or the central air unit?

Could be either. Need to have a tech look at it. Does the heat work? Batteries OK, if so equipped? There are many possibilities from a bad compressor to a broken wire on the thermostat line.
