    Process of Deportation for an alien caught stealing
    What is the process of deportation in San Francisco, California?


    The case is: A non-US citizen worker is accused of stealing in a store. She is found to be overstaying in the country and working without permit.


    What will happen to her? Will she be detained? Will there be a trial? Will she be automatically deported? How long is the whole process?

    For the theft, they can have a trial, unless she pleads guilty.

    To be deported, there is a hearing, not a trail.
