City and state taxes with 1099-misc
I am a resident alien performing research at a University in New York, NY (H1-b visa, in USA since January 2002). I got a fellowship on July last year and as a fellow a got a 1099-misc. I also have a W2 for the first half of 2006.

I have to fill in a 1040 form (not 1040ez, right? ) and schedule C for federal taxes. Also schedule SE. But which forms should I use for city and state? IT-150? I only got one copy of the 1099-misc, I assume that goes with the 1040. What should I use for city/state?

Also, as a fellow I am not supposed to pay social security and medicare. How should I report that?

    Thanks in advance

Use IT-201. A copy of the Form 1099-MISC is NOT attached to either the federal or the state tax return.

You do NOT report the non-payment of Social Security or Medicare taxes.
