12 Volt 300 Watt DC Utility Pump runs off a 12 volt battery
Is there a way to convert it to a household outlet? Or is too much trouble?

You need a converter not an inverter and a converter for that size wattage is not cheap-$100 or so. I would just go to Harbor Freight or HD/Lowe's and get a 120VAC pump.
