    1992 accord
I have a 1992 Honda Accord DX with No Spark. I have a voltage pulse between the coil wire and ground. Does this indicate that the igniter. Ecm is working properly?

If the CEL comes on for 2 seconds and then goes out, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II), then the ECM is likely fine. If that checks out, install a new ICM and rotor. Ditto for distributor cap, if it has not been changed in 60,000 miles. Be sure to apply silicone heat transfer compound to the back of the new ICM; otherwise, it won't last long.

Thx TXGreaseMonkey... I found failed resistance on both the coil pins c/d and on the ICM BLU/GRN wire connections points. I replaced them both and the car starts and runs. I had replaced the cap, rotor and plugs the week before and the car ran for about a week. Is it reasonable to think that when the coil failed it took out the ICM, or is there a probable reason both devices failed at the same time? The car does have 170k+ miles on it. I did use the Heatsink compound.. thx

Good job. Many ICMs and coils fail due to heat and due to excessive resistance in the primary ignition system. Excessive resistance is usually caused by worn out rotors, distributor caps, and wires. When resistance gets too high, the voltage from the coil will find the shortest path to ground, which is often through the ICM and coil. This is why I suggested that you replace the rotor and cap. If your spark plug wires have more than 100,000 miles on them, I'd install a new NGK wire set.
