Question on how to plumb a Utility Tub and Washing Machine into Waste Drain Line.
I am looking for advise on how to properly connect a Utility Tub and Washing Machine into my sewer/waste drain line. Any help is appreciated. I have attached a picture of my idea/possible layout of the plumbing.

    Hi Harv

What is draining into the main stack from above? If there are any fixtures at all (and I suspect it is at least one or two full bathrooms) that drain into this vertical drain pipe then you MUST add a vent for the sink AND a vent for the washing machine... these vents can connect together and must then connect into a vent somewhere in the house or run up and through the roof by itself.

If mechanical vents are allowed in your area (see AAV) this will be easier than running a dedicated venting battery to another vent in the house (or out the roof).

This work usually requires a plumbing permit and an inspection of the work by a local plumbing inspector... just an FYI!

    Back to you...
