I drank on Friday until 1am Saturday having 5 mixed drinks, didn't finish last one. I had a random EtG Monday at 10:45 am, about 58 hours from last test. When given saliva alchoscreen it stated I was positive with .02% back. So it was sent to the lab for urine EtG test. I would normally be totally confident about ua due to fact I've passed before drinking much heavier previously, but the saliva test threw me for a loop. Insight would be highly appreciated!

Normal Results: ≤0.02% is considered negative by most employers.
For results above 0.02%, a second confirmation retest may be needed.

You triggered the need for a confirmation test. Standard operating procedure, and I will add from experience you are playing with fire, having gotten false confidence from passing before after drinking. You may well pass again, but your luck is bound to run out, since they have these new(?) quick check tests in place.

They are probably cheaper, but as you see effective. You better adjust to this new policy and procedure change, and modify your weekend drinking habits accordingly.

That's not what I asked, this isn't legal nor really life changing, I'm just wondering how these tests work which you don't seem to know. I asked for insight, not for your opinion on how to live my life.
