Im 18 and I'm just a little concerned and have questions. I have an uncommon cycle and symptoms of endometriosis like for instance when if I don't have birth control I will bleed for weeks, and when I finally do stop my period I can have sex and it will open the floor gate and I will be on it again for another couple of weeks.. That is a concern. Why do I keep bleeding? And also what are the chances I could be pregnant if I missed my due date for my shot a couple of weeks and had unprotected sex with out pulling out... It sounds high but I was basically on my period. And now Ive stopped could I be prepregnant please help without judgement

Have you been actually diagnosed as having endometriosis? If not, seeing your gyn would be the first step to determine the likely cause. Hormonal birth control can help with symptoms of endometriosis, but only while being used as directed.

Yes, pregnancy can happen if you miss the injection by a couple of weeks, but it is not highly likely. If your cycles are irregular, you may not be able to use a missed period as a possible indicator for pregnancy. Having the injection can cause irregular cycles as well, and if you do indeed have endometriosis, that can also play a role.

It would be a good idea to see your doctor and find out the cause for the excessive bleeding, there can be a number of possible causes, some that could potentially effect your chances of becoming pregnant when you want to. They can also check for pregnancy as well.
