I have no water in my house - my supply comes through another house on my property and the water is working fine so there is no problem with the mains. The pipes have never frozen before for my house and although we did have a minus temperature the moning the water stopped the temperature is now 7° and still no water - the water meter is not going us so there is no leak underground - any ideas?

You don't say how water goes from the other house to yours, where you live, how deep the pipe is, how many feet between houses, etc - but sure sounds frozen underground to me.
Ground heat from summer takes several months to get depleted unless you go many feet down. Your ground is getting colder and colder, regardless of the temp in the air.
Open some faucets and stand in the basement with a hair dryer aimed at the pipe where it enters from the other house.
