I have a water system that is fed form a creek. When the system is full and the foot valve is pulled from creek it gushes water. I have replaced the valve with the same result. Do I need to put an additional check valve in the line if so where? Do I need a different type or size of foot valve?...

Ok replacing pump. Now I need some advice, my shallow well has a foot valve that looks really nasty so when replacing should I just get another foot valve or replace with a check valve.

I have a shallow well , I have a check valve ( brand new) , b ut I don't know if I have a foot valve.
