    Dropped auger
I used a 25 ft cobra auger purchased at Lowe's. I unclogged the washer drain pipe as intended but when pulling the auger back, it fell down the drain. The washer no longer backs up but I'm concerned auger that fell down the drain will come back to haunt me. I live on the 11th floor of my housing complex so I have now idea where or how far it fell down. Should I be concerned or just let it be?

WHOOPS! You were certainly past the trap,so it may drop 11 stories. Fortunately the drain is at least 3 and possibly 4". Hard to tell the future, but at this point I might just play dumb and hope it corrodes quickly. Otherwise, you could be faced with a monstrous bill to start cutting open pipes and find it.

Hopefully it washes into the sewer, or at least causes no problems that can be traced to you. Now you could rent/hire a sewer camera crew to find it, and make sure, or maybe retrieve it, that's been done before.

I really like the idea of getting the drain line video-scoped. Washing machine/laundry plumbing in high story buildings is typically piped up in a battery of just washing machines and laundry sinks from unit to unit, and depending on the size of the pipes, the drain cable could definitely cause problems.

As much as it sucks to pay for something like that, it has to be tons cheaper than causing a flood that could damage multiple units and somehow get traced back to you, right?

    Just my thoughts!

Auger Diagram for two stage [ 2 Answers ]

I have a Sears Craftsman Eager1 Snowblower (2 stage) and I can't figure out how to put the auger belt on. I have a 38" belt which by the model number (536 90570) is correct. The guy I bought the blower from put an 8 horse on the machine instead of the 7 horse which was on it originally (I think)....
